Reducing Caregiving Burden for Seniors and Improving Medical and Human Rights Issues Through MECS PRO
Monit is a digital healthcare company that creates comprehensive solutions supporting the life journey of people of all ages, from infants to seniors. Through its proprietary AI-based diaper contamination measurement technology, Monit provides a monitoring system that enables timely diaper changes for users ranging from infants to elderly patients. Its baby care products include a diaper care system for infants, the Monit smart nursing light, and a hip seat.
In particular, Monit is expanding its business around MECS PRO, a diaper management system designed to reduce caregiving burden for seniors and improve medical and human rights issues.
MECS PRO is an AIoT-based smart diaper care system developed to innovatively improve the efficiency and quality of elderly care in nursing facilities. Using sensors, it detects diaper contamination status in real time and wirelessly transmits the data, providing immediate alerts to care staff. This helps protect patients’ health and dignity, reduce the workload of care workers, prevent infections, and maximize the operational efficiency of care facilities.
Proprietary Technology for Implementing a Smart Excretion Management System
Monit possesses proprietary technologies for implementing MECS, its smart excretion management system, including non-contact capacitive sensor technology, BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) communication, and an AI-based excretion pattern analysis algorithm. The sensor is attached to the outside of a diaper and detects contamination in real time, while data is transmitted via beacon and BLE to a mobile app and web-based monitoring system. Monit’s in-house algorithm learns excretion patterns to analyze urination timing, frequency, and contamination range. It also analyzes sensor data and provides reports, with the goal of detecting early signs of conditions such as urinary tract infections.
Going forward, Monit plans to launch dedicated diaper products to provide optimized compatibility with its sensors and secure a stable recurring revenue structure. The company also plans to gradually develop expansion modules such as fall detection, bed-exit alerts, and vital sign monitoring, integrating various care services into a single platform.
In Korea, Monit plans to secure a stable revenue base by expanding in the National Health Insurance Service welfare equipment market and entering public procurement channels. In global markets, the company aims to strengthen partnerships in Japan, Singapore, Europe, and other regions, converting PoC projects into formal purchase contracts. Based on accumulated data, Monit plans to introduce AI analysis services and subscription services to maximize operational efficiency in nursing facilities and expand into personalized health management services for patients.
